[REVIEW] Get Happy About Your Skin with Body Merry

FullSizeRender 6

Get happy about your skin says Body Merry and with that tagline and their philosophy, how could one not?  They stand by the love for their customers – who have hundreds of brands and products to choose from but who continue to choose Body Merry again and again – and that their products are made with high quality ingredients.  They say “We don’t believe you need to be rich to look a million bucks.”  Well I’m down with that Body Merry!

They create a natural and organic skincare range with a 90-day 100% satisfaction guarantee on all their products ordered from their website as well as their Amazon storefront.  THAT’s how confident they are that you’ll love their stuff… that if you don’t then they’ll give you your dosh back.  Simple.

Using natural products has become quite important to me and my face of late, so when I stumbled on their Pro-A Serum on Amazon I snapped it up without a second thought.  I was looking for something with Retinol in it to help with fine lines, wrinkles, hyper-pigmentation and that sort of thing… I don’t really like to use the term Anti-Aging because I don’t think anything can stop you aging really but also to be “anti” aging seems a little sad… Yes, with age comes wrinkles, fine lines and discoloration… but we gain wisdom and self acceptance, not to mention bilateralization!  Google it.

I digress.

I loved the ingredients (which as well as Retinol included: Hyaluronic Acid, Organic Green Tea, Vitamin E, Jojoba Oil, Witch Hazel & Aloe), I loved that it was organic, I love that it wasn’t tested on animals and I loved its claims…  I bought it.  I’ve been using it under my moisturizer for a good few months and my face is loving it so I decided to look further into the brand and find out what other products they had in their range that my skin could benefit from.  I found three that really stood out to me and this led me to contacting them.  While I didn’t get the products for free, Body Merry did provide very deep and generous discounts for all three products I’d had my eye on, which was super duper cool and very kind of them.  That being said, my review of these products are all my own words and unbiased opinions.

I began trialling these three products on the 20th November so I have used them now for about four weeks and I feel that I have enough of a grasp of the products and how my skin is reacting to them to be able to tell you about them.  Here’s my take on each of the three products I got:

Age Defense Eye Cream – 1 oz

Key Ingredients: Vitamin C, Jojoba Oil, Hyaluronic Acid

What it says it does:Body Merry’s big 1 OZ size eye cream gives your peepers a much needed energy boost to combat dark circles, wrinkles, fine lines, bags and puffiness – stuff that not even the strongest coffee can handle.”

What it did:  It reduced some puffiness and seems to have lightened the blue-ish/red tones under my eyes.  I haven’t noticed a difference in wrinkles and fine lines yet.

My thoughts:  It was the pictures on Amazon that really sold this product for me, I couldn’t believe the difference.  I just had to try it. The eye cream is very thin and easily absorbed into the skin, it has a fresh scent, nothing too overpowering.  Once it has been absorbed it leave a slight tightening feeling, nothing uncomfortable; especially if you’re not dry under your eyes, which I tend to be so would normally reach for something hydrating.  The dispenser works great, although I have to be careful not to squirt out too much, if I do I just use the excess between my brows!  Works great under make up.

How I Used It:  Every morning and every night.  I pumped half a pea sized amount onto my finger and dabbed gently under my eyes.  I tried not to double up on the eye cream unless I felt particularly dry that day/night as I wanted to get a true result as to what this product could do.  If I did feel like I needed a little more help I would use my Kiehl’s Avocado Eye Cream over it once it had absorbed.

Cellulite Defense Cream – 4 oz

Key Ingredients: Caffeine, Retinol & Seaweed

What it says it does: “Best Lotion For Body Firming & Toning.  Premium ingredients like 3 TYPES OF SEAWEED, retinol, cayenne and caffeine we made sure not to sacrifice quality for price and crafted a high quality gel-cream that gives you results you can see and a subtle tingling sensation you can feel.”

What it did:  There weren’t any grand changes in cellulite after 4 weeks but there were some changes in my skins texture.  It seems a tiny bit smoother and firmer.

My thoughts:  This cream had an odd consistency and very strong minty scent.  It’s described as a cream-gel, which I think is pretty accurate.  Definitely has a jelly type of consistency.  The first time I used it I was sort of shocked at how it made my legs feel very cold and tingly, as though I’d put something menthol on them!  It lasted about 15 minutes or so but as the cream absorbs very quickly into the skin you can get dressed as soon as it has and it doesn’t stay sticky on the skin or mark your clothes.  Once I knew how it worked it felt quite good actually, like it was doing something!  Sadly after 4 weeks of using this product mostly once or twice a day, I’ve run out so it’s something I’ll have to consider repurchasing to see if I continue to have success with it.

How I Used it:  On clean skin after having showered and patted completely dry.  I rubbed it in thoroughly using circular motions, sometimes incorporating a little more pressure.

FullSizeRender 7Hyaluronic Dew Serum – 2 oz

Key Ingredients: Aloe, MSM,  Jojoba Oil, Green Tea

What it says it does:  “Use our hyaluronic acid serum so you can soak in all the right amounts of hyaluronic acid, witch hazel, aloe, MSM and other natural, organic and hydrating ingredients that are gentle yet effective in combating dryness, wrinkles, spots, uneven complexion and other signs of aging.”

What it did:  Since using this product I haven’t had a single break out!  I have no idea if it was this product that had a hand in that – and I have to confess that I don’t usually have a ton of them – but I did notice that I’ve not broken out and my complexion does seem smooth and soft.

My thoughts:  It’s a thickish clear liquid with a strange sort of scent that I can’t quite place, subtle though.  It absorbs into the skin quite quickly.  I like that it is in a dark bottle so that it doesn’t interfere with the integrity of the ingredients.  It has a dropper which makes application really easy, a few drops go a long way.  My skin is feeling refreshed and smooth.

How I Used It:  Morning and night.  A few drops of the serum on my face and down my neck after using my toners.  Once it is absorbed, after a few seconds, I applied my moisturizers/oils.

In Conclusion:  I have really enjoyed trialling these products and seeing the results I’m seeing, I’m excited to see more.  I’m definitely going to continue using them, watching closely how well my skin reacts over a longer period of use.  I would definitely recommend trying these products, they might work wonders for you.

Just a note on the company Body Merry, I have had a wonderful experience shopping with them, they are thorough and thoughtful. The Director of Brand Awareness contacted me a couple of times to see how I was getting on with the products, what my experience with each of them has been and asking for feedback on them, whether it be positive or negative.  It made me feel that, as a customer, my opinion matters. As I mentioned, they have a 90 day money-back guarantee on all of their products so following up on their customers purchases to ensure satisfaction is a plus in my book.  Great customer services goes a long way.

I was not sponsored by Body Merry to write this review.  As mentioned I was given a deep discount to purchase these products and my words and opinions are my own.
